Shadow and Light Work

The way through.

There is no short cut to living the life of your dreams. There is only the way through, which requires work. It was never meant to be easy. But it is worth it.

Cleaning out the old so that you can become new. Re-writing your belief systems and re-wiring your nervous system, effortlessly relinquishing coping mechanisms that have been ruling your life. Creating a vacuum within yourself, a blackhole, that it can be filled with the light and magic this world can offer. Releasing your burdens, removing heaviness, cutting ties and letting go of all the things holding you back.
Bringing you into the potent place where you no longer just need to survive, but instead can put all your unlocked energy in creation, experiencing and thriving.
The potent place where you can easily manifest your greatest desires.

Shadow work is where we face and we feel all the bad stuff, we give it space to be witnessed, then we release it or we integrate it as something we now love. Light work is then relishing in the joy, the fun, the laughter, the good things about yourself and being here.

In both types of work connect to your body, how does it feel . Tell yourself and your body, your mind, all your parts you love it, you are so grateful for all the hard work it does for you, and you are so so happy to be here.

SHADOW WORK

The journey of meeting yourself, facing your ouroboros and coming out on the other side transformed.
Entering the abyss, stripping away, letting go of all attachments to the past, to your beliefs, to the familiar, and releasing all that you once knew, all fears, all doubts.

Energy, emotions, trauma, whatever form it is in, needs to be moved out, actively. This can be through physical release or through witnessing. Both are powerful.
Physical: Cathartic release (scream, cry, punching, kicking, stomping); Myofascial release (physically working with pressure points of held trauma); Holotropic breath work (accessing and activating the subconscious)
Witnessing: Meditation and visualisation (link visualisations); Journaling (link prompts); Talk therapy and hypnotherapy

A word on witnessing. First you must feel it to then release it. In stillness and silence, to feel and contemplate from a place of detached awareness. From the perspective of the observer you can then witness the emotion or energy. Once witnessed, it will move out either released in an intense cathartic way or slowly dissolve.

“Healing is actually the capacity to hold pain” – Gabor Maté.

Sometimes you need to get deep into what is behind it. Often, when we dig deep often our trauma, our fears, our emotions we find our child selves, pain, hurt, and fear from their experiences or their learnings. They have been buried deep, the key is to try see past the emotion to the little child on the other side who is dying for your attention.

It is autumn, that trees become their strongest. As they aren’t bearing fruit all their energy is being directed into their roots. “What externally appears as death, is actually a catalyst for new life” – Ebonee Davis.

Stripped down to your essence, venturing alone, until you find a clearing. One of potent power, of unlimited potential, where nothing now becomes everything.

LIGHT WORK

Don’t you know yet. It’s your light that lights the world.
Rumi

Gratitude. Affirmations, visualisations, re-writing the subconscious mind through neuroplasticity – repetition, high emotions, authority figures, peers
Delulu manifestation. Re-wire your old outdated internal working model of fear, abandonment, and vigilance, to one of love and abundance.
On an energetic level, your life is a mirror of your internal world, your internal beliefs, the energy you put out is the energy that is reflected to you. So start projecting high vibration energy.

Parenting your inner child – be your own authority figure, give your inner child all the love, support, encouragement and guidance they needed.

Connection, co-regulation. Build for connection, peers for neuroplasticity. Oxytocin releases in stress response to seek support – natural anti inflammatory, protects cardiovascular system, helps heal heart cells and strengthen heart, recover fasted
Body has a built in mechanism for stress resilience – human connection

Love. Spread love and kindness. Acts of generosity and kindness bring more to the giver than the recipient.

Joy. Laugh, dance, sing, smile. Play your favourite music and bop along.

Creativity. Dance, paint, draw, sing, write, create, get into the flow.

The Role of Somatics

When you are too triggered to dive into the belief, emotion, or feeling and/or when you are stuck in nervous system disregulation feedback loops, somatic movements can be game changing. Different somatic movements can also accelerate the process by creating a physical outlet for trapped energy and help your inner child feel soothed to heal.
When we practice somatics they can become a short cut to regulation and healing.

Take a few deep breaths and shake it out.
You got this.
